In a metal barn can I use schd 40 pvc to run a couple of new outlets or should I use emt ? the pipes are exposed

I'm pretty sure you could use either one. I like to use emt for exposed work because the pvc tends to sag over time with the temperature changes.

the emt worked fine ,but I will use armored for the ceiling light runs . It cost the same as THHN but you do not have to pull the wires or make the 10' connections

Use MC cable not armored cable. Or do you mean MC cable? I would run EMT up to the fixture and set a box. Then run a short (whip) section of MC from the box to the fixture. This is how the pros do it.

If this is exposed, you should want it to look as good as possible. :thumbsup:

It depends on what the barn is used for. The code is specific about agricultural buildings.
