I am installing a simple candy dish light fixture in my ceiling "tying" off of the wiring of another light. Question, after installing the circular ceiling box in the ceiling, I can feel air coming through the box openings from above(no access to above). Can I insert fiberglass insulation into the box to stop the airflow? Or is this not safe around the wire connections? Suggestions? Thanks!

No way would I put any type of insulation in the box. Good luck with the foam if you don't hook it up right or there is a problem later. A lot of fixtures have a layer of fiberglass insulation that sits between the fixture and the sheetrock. The heat from the fixture should offset the cold, too.

I thought about the foam but agree that it is very messy and can be a pain. With the fiberglass insulation, can I just wrap it around the circular lighting box and secure it with the silver tape to the box? Is that safe?

Not in the box, around the box. You are not reading before you post.

installing Fiberglass Insulation INSIDE? the box!

J.V. is admonishing a poster for not reading before posting... But the starter of this thread, KennyKenny DOES ask if he could stick Fiberglass Insulation INSIDE the box. Most posters answered --correctly-- that inside the box is a no-no. Around the box is OK. The amazing thing is that a [basic] light fixture is made with Fiberglas (Correct spelling of Trademark) and silver foil sheet (or sheath) inside!:no::drink:Don't Drink and Drive!!!
