I understand it is a 20A circuit and required in the kitchen, so does one need a special plug or can a standard 15A plug be used. If not, then does one have to change all of ones electrical plugs to suit?
Unless you are in Canada, the 20 amp receptacles are not required in the us.
It should be a combo, that allows a 15 amp plug to fit as well as a 20 amp plug.
Yep, I am in Canada and thanks. As long as I can plug in a standard kettle or toaster I can use all T types in the kitchen. I was hoping I could find out on line rather than run down to the locat hardware store and actually try the regular plug in a 'T' socket. Thanks again.
Your good to go with the plugs you have on your applicances.
If you happen to find a appliance with a 20A t-slot, please let me know and I will start to understand a little more why we have to put 20A t-slots in a kitchen when I have never seen a household appliance with a 20A cord end.
