I am replacing the electric cook top stove with a new electric cook top. The current wiring is as follows:
Power source:----> Cook top
BLK ---------> BLK
BLK ---------> WHITE
RED ---------> RED
Bare ---------> GRN

The New elctric cook top has BLK, RED, and Green wires. Question is which BLK wire should be not connected. If anyone has an answer, please let me know.
Thank you

from your description it sounds like the blk that goes to the white should be left capped. But check and make sure that there is 220volts across the blk-blk and red-red ones. I'm guessing the blk white is a nuetral and someone didn't have any white wire so they ran a blk. (keep in mind this is a GUESS) This really might be one where you should contact an electrician. If you mess this up you may need another cooktop. Best of luck to ya.
