Ok... I pulled this outlet out to take a look. The receptacle is switched and the switch has one cable coming back to it, so this would be a power-receptacle-switch situation. I'm just a bit confused by the neutral wires coming in to the receptacle and nothing labeled "hot" at the switch.

What you have is a switch loop to the switch on the black/white splice and a fully switched receptacle.

The black in the splice is power in and feeds power to the switch on the white.

The power in will be one of the black wires connected to the white wire feeding the switch.
The other black wire will take the power to the next device.
