Electrical diagram for 3 way switch and 3 way dimmer switch

I am installing 6 recessed ceiling lights in a basement. I have power going to the lights, then to the regular 3 way switch with 14/2 wire and then ran a 14/3 wire to the 3 way dimmer switch. I used the diagram below but the lights do not come on no matter which way I have them flipped. What wire(s) do I need to change to make this system work with this configuration? Thanks for any help you can provide me. I FAILED TO MENTION IN MY FIRST POSTING THAT I WILL BE RUNNING 6 CEILING LIGHTS. DOES THE WIRING FROM THE LIGHT FROM THE FIRST ONE RECEIVING POWER CHANGE IN ANY WAY OR JUST THE REGULAR BLACK/BLACK, WHITE/WHITE? DOES THIS MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN HOW THE WIRING FROM THE LAST LIGHT IN THE RUN GOES TO THE REGULAR 3 WAY SWITCH? SHOULD I TRY SWITCHING THE TWO POWER/TRAVELER WIRES AT THE 3 WAY DIMMER SWITCH?

I fixed the problem by running 14/3 wire between each light fixture. I had some pieces of 14/3 left over from other wiring projects and luckily did not have to buy any. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!!

The diagram is correct. Either you wired different or maybe the dimmer is bad. Try the setup with a simple three way switch in place of the dimmer.

I added some additional questions to make sure I have my wiring in order. Please look at my additional concerns and make any responses you feel are relevant.
Thanks for you help so far!!!!!
Don't run the cable to the switches through the other fixtures. If you do that you need a four wire+ ground cable between the fixtures.
Just run a 2 wire cable from the one fixture to the additional fixtures connecting black to black and white to white.
