Today I was putting some OSB in the attic and I drilled a deck screw into the wire foir the electic range. There was an spark but the breaker did not trip. I turned on the stove and it workedjust fine. I repaired the drill hole by wrapping with electric tape.
Is that safe?? Any suggestions?

The cable may eventually fail because of moisture wicking into the taped repair.
