Electric proximity to plumbing NEC 2011

Under NEC 2011 what restrictions are there on how wiring can be placed in relation to plumbing?

I want to put romex in a celing/floor joist cavity that already has copper pipe and PVC drain. Can I do this or must I use an adjacent joist cavity? How about a light box/fixture in that same joist cavity? When pulling romex through a wall (through studs) is there any restriction on where I can put the romex? Can it go below plumbing feed pipes? Should it be above them? Should I try to route it in an entirely different wall than the plumbing?
