Generally, which is more useful? Power going to the switch box or the light box? I thought it was the light box and not have many wires in the smaller switch box, but I had a bit of problem finding digital timer that did not need a neutral. Now I know there is one but it costs more as well.
Or does it change according to the rooms? Bedrooms vs bathrooms?

Thank you for the post. I did 5 minute search for now, and it brought up 2014 NEC changes. Single residence. Looked like biggest change was kitchen requiring both GFCI and AFCI protections. One website mentioned a subpanel dedicated to kitchen. But anyway, for a single residence, is this the biggest change in the codes?

The expansion of AFCI protection is another big change, but it has been growing over the last few code cycles.
