Hey guys,

Dire straights here. We have an electric heat pump that has propane backup. I guess its too cold for the electric heat pump to be efficient so its running in backup mode? Temp has been in the teens past few days.

What ever the reason, we are having problems with our propane (not getting enough pressure into the house to run any of our gas appliances)

The owner of the buried tank is Amerigas. They are being, well, less than useful at this time.

So, is there any way to get the heat pump to run back in electric mode with the outside air handeler? Will it even generate heat?

Thanks guys, in a tight spot with limited options.

Isnt asking a heat pump to heat your house in 15 degrees, Im sure with wind asking a lot? Is your gas tank full? or do you have funzalow disease?

Asking a heat pump to do that is certainly a stretch. But when its 50 degrees in your house, even if it heated the air to 51 degrees it would be awesome.

Luckily, they came out and fixed our propane. Ended up being a frozen regulator. Hopefully will never have to deal with this again.

Thank was at 55%, while the funzalow disease runs rampant in our house - it applies to my shop and not essentials.

Thank Goodness for that. And I too know why the bottom guy on the totem pole's shoulders slump, his eyes bug out, and he has high blood pressure. Its the weight.
