I needed to replace the rusted out lid on my ejector pump, this pump has been in for 28 years, never had a problem. My question is the old say "if its not broke dont fix it" apply to pumps, problem is if you wait till it fails, you have a mess on your hands, excess water makes install of a new pump more difficult. I did replace the check valve. the only thing running through this pump is the discharge from the water softener. I cant believe I've had no issues for this long, I do understand older pumps were made better, in any event any thoughts?
