Can anyone with some ecm retrofit experience give me an opinion on which motor they prefer more, the Emerson Ecotech or the Evergreen motor?

I see the Emerson motor comes at a higher price, is it better than the Evergreen motor?
My neighbor wants me to install one of these in her gas pack and if it performs well, I will install one in my unit as well. Thanks

I use the more expensive Emerson motor and you do get what you pay for. The quality of the ball bearings will be better and the electronics will last longer in the higher priced motor. They have to cut costs somewhere on the cheaper motor. They have 4 fixed speeds and will maintain them constantly as long as the ductwork is properly sized and the motor is not having to work against excessively high static pressure/resistance. They don't really ramp but have a soft start which is quieter than a PSC motor. They rock for a few seconds at startup like the higher priced infinite speed variable speed cousins.

Thanks Yuri. I do see that heat rise and static pressure should be checked prior to install, to avoid more setup hassle.
