Easyboard from homedepot. Remodeling master bath, going with tile surround. Installed easyboard, without furring strips, said i didn't need them. just screw off at studs. At 16" on center, find there is play in the board. Push on it between the studs, and it gives about a 1/4". Anybody use this stuff? Used mesh tape and mortar on joints as well as a water proof sealant. Before i tile, will the thinset offer the rigid strength. So the grout won't crack later! Or should i start over!!!
Suggestions and input pls.

How thick was this material? Wall material needs to be 1/2".

Is a 1/2" easyboard, went on ther site and watched demo's, prior to install, cutting strength test, etc. Easy of use is great, just installed, then found the give between studs under hand pressure.
No issues with joints cracking after tape and mortar. But will grout crack after tile is installed if pressure were put in these areas? Flexible grout?

Even 1/2" cement board will flex if pressed between studs. You shouldn't have a problem.
