Put a new furnace in my garage. It is a upflow Lennox model. I was wondering if it is worth the effort to run ducting from the plenum down to the floor and then coming out at a 90 angle or just run a couple elbows out the top. It would be nice to have heat at floor level but not sure if it would just rise so fast it wouldnt do much good.
If the furnace is gas & it is sitting on the garage floor. make sure the return air & furnace itself isn't able to draw in any flammable vapors.. ells etc on the top should be fine for heating a open garage area
John , kinda funny how it is in different areas.. They don't make you install a furnace 18'' off the floor here in any city / county limits.. Some cities / counties make you install the new style flame guard water heaters 18'' & some don't...Code states that if it'e a flame guard style water it doesn't have to be on a stand......Inspectors  they are they love to play god when you are in their area
