Ducting question?

1567 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  beenthere
Put a new furnace in my garage. It is a upflow Lennox model. I was wondering if it is worth the effort to run ducting from the plenum down to the floor and then coming out at a 90 angle or just run a couple elbows out the top. It would be nice to have heat at floor level but not sure if it would just rise so fast it wouldnt do much good.

For what ever dumb reason.
Some inspectors do consider a water heater with flame guard as a source of ignition.

All sources of ignition must be min 18" above floor in a garage.
A blower motor is a source of ignition.

Not enforced in all areas.
But that doesn't make it right not to raise it.
