Hello!
My wife and I recently purchased our first home and I've started the process of fully investigating all it's systems. We have a dual zone system with two furnaces and ACs. I recently discovered that there is a centrally located return on the second floor that feeds the furnace for the ground floor (a return in zone B feeding the furnace for zone A). That seems wrong. Is there something I am missing, could this be intentional? I should also note that there is cardboard blocking 2 of the 4 vents that feed this single return duct. So clearly the previous owners were trying to resolve some heating issues. I'm noticing a 4 degree difference in temperature form the centrally located thermostat and the rooms at either end of the second floor. It was a foreclosure so I don't have the luxury of asking the previous owner about it.
