The good ones will shove some paper in there before spraying. The worst is when the taper decides to fill your box with mud, at that point I don't care if I make a few extra marks in the wall when digging out the mud.

Looks like that on every new house I've ever worked on.
A simple wipe with a utility knife held at a steep angle pulling away from the sharp edge will wipe off the paint enough to ID what color it is.

The main problem with rockers is that most of them don't give a rat's a$$ about anyone else, they are on the jobsite by themselves susally, AND they are long gone after they finish and cannot be confronted or held accountable. Only the good ones who do repeat work with the same contractors are sometimes decent.

Every man for there self from what I've seen.
Framers say let the hangers worry about it, hangers say let the finishers deal with it, finishers say let the painters deal with it.
Oh the poop I've seen.
Mud filled boxes, outlets and vents covered over with drywall, mud all over the floors and tub, electricians come in and leave all there trash where ever there standing, brand new granite counter tops with a big sign on it saying do not sit anything on this counter in capital letters covered with lunch trash and coffee stains.
The best one was we had left a window out to get the sheet rock in with a boom and there was a huge dumpster on that side of the house for trash with a tarp on the ground to make it easier to clean up.
The hangers threw all the trash out a window on the other side of the house right on top of all the new landscaping and mulch and distroyed the brand new window frame.
