Hi,
I have a walkout basement with a 1 foot concrete foundation. I'm removing the baseboard and repairing some of the drywall and was suprised to find the drywall attached directly to the wall. Should a special type of drywall be used for the repair so that there are no issues with water or mold?

The protective surface on drywall in only on the face side so any drywall will work.
