I have a new whirlpool cabrio gas dryer and I need to run the vent through the side. It has the knock-out panel and I was assuming I needed to remove the back panel in order to run the ductwork out the side.

Problem is..I can not for the life of me get the back panel off. I have removed all the screws..the top control panel is loose but the back panel still wont budge. Any ideas? Anyone done this with out whirlpools "special" kit ? I figured it would only need a 90 degree elbow and some hose clamps.

the back is not going to come off, you need to take the front off. Remove the bulk head, remove the belt, remove the drum, now you can do what you need to do.

Well, I went through the front and was able to get the piping out the knock-out panel. Getting the knock-out panel out was the hardest part! There was nothing knock-out about it.

You should have seen the look on my wifes face when she came home tp see her new dryer taken down to the bare bones! Its working fine know though, thanks for the help!
