I have an older (1985) mobile home, trying to put a dryer in what appears to be the "factory location" for one, but I have a couple issues.
The vent hole is offset when compared to the hole coming out of the dryer itself. The hole on the dryer is basically dead center, whereas the vent is offset, and very close to a small wall, which basically holds up the cabinets the are above the laundry area.
The second problem is that the 220v outlet lines up about dead center with the vent hole on the dryer. Meaning the vent tubing would have to go around the plugin before exiting.
I feel that I should use the solid metal tubing to vent the dryer given the circumstances, and with these little quirks piling up, it leads to the dryer sitting way out in the hallway, with barely enough room to open the door, not to mention the fact that I would have to do the electric slide every-time I walked down the hall.
Any ideas? Id like to avoid making a new vent hole. I dont know what kind of dryer was originally installed, but they must have had something that worked without the hassle? Do they make dryers that have offset vent outlets?
A couple pics to describe what Im referring to:
