I have a maytag MDG9700AWW gas (clothes) dryer. It's about 7 years old. Recently it stopped working - when I press the button there's an audible buzz for about 10 seconds then a click and it stops. Nothing moves however.
I unscrewed the back and cleaned out A LOT of lint (see pic) and even had some hair wrapped around one of the rollers. I think that I fully cleaned it and the drum moves manually without problem, however when I press the button same issue, no movement, buzz then shuts
Also on the pulley belt I noticed in multiple spots becoming freyed off. As in this spaghetti like strands, only a minor fraction of the width of the puley but still strange. (picture showing freyed pulley is upside down before cleaning
