You need a slow speed drill---a scrap of wood with a hole drilled into it--and a sponge.

center the scrap over the spot for the hole---insert the drill bit and get the hole started--the block/hole will keep the bit from skating all over the place.

Next---push the bit through the corner of the sponge--wet the sponge--set the bit back into your starter hole--drill and squeeze the sponge to get water onto the bit.
finish your hole---

Dry cutting will ruin the bit ----
