I'll be starting on re-tiling our kitchen hallway (approx 400 sq ft.) and already have a mixing paddle and a Dewalt 6 amp corded drill. As long as I keep the RPM's low, water first, then thinset, would this type of drill suffice? I have a few extra Ridgid 18V batteries and could purchase a bare tool. Any feedback suggestions would be appreciated.

I think your 6 amp drill should do it ---I use a 7 amp Milwaukee without problem---I have killed a drill or two in my earlier days---I now use a dedicated mud mixer---but my Hole Shooter has mixed thousands of pounds of mud----------
