We have a preserved wood basement with sand around the house, but the slope from the lawn towards the house is negative. We want to build the slope up with soil such that it slopes away from the house and then put grass seed on it. We were planning putting 6mil poly on an initial slope and then topping that with soil (how much?) and then sowing the grass seed.

Are there any problems with our plan? Is it okay for us to have the soil above the sand that the builder put in place right up to the stucco? Is the
poly a good idea? (no "breathing" issues?).

Thanks for any help on this.

Basically, the question I am asking is this.

Does the grade away from the house require poly if one has a Preserved Wood Basement?

I can't find any Preserved Wood Basement info online that actually speaks of poly. They all just say slope the soil and grass away from the house with a certain grade.
