I just changed two of my hallway lights.

They're operated by two switches but I'd like to be able to dim.

Can I just replace one switch with a dimmer?

Switches work independently so I guess they're wired in parralel, right?

Please give me your advice.

If there are two fixtures independently controlled by two separate switches, you would need to replace each switch with a dimmer for both the fixtures to dim.


If these two switches are in the same box, you could pigtail the switch legs together and use one dimmer, but then the second switch would be disabled.

Two fixture controlled together by both switches. Basically, each switch control both fixtures.

There's one switches and the entrance and one at the exit of the hallway.

Switches work independently .

Then they don't work independently. Buy a 3-Way dimmer and replace one switch with the dimmer. Be sure to mark which wire is on the common screw of the existing switch. Even better, take a picture so you can reference it if you have problems.
