I have french doors that open to outside and a side door that open to outside. I realized the hinge pins can be opened easily with little effort.
What options would you guys suggest? What's the best/easiest thing I can do to be safe.

Thanks

Any outside opening door I've ever seen already has "tamper proof hinges".
Is there glass panels in the door?
If so I break the glass, reach in an unlock the door.
As a former fire firefighter it always cracks me up when I see post like this.
Someone trying to break in is not likely to show up with the tools to knock the pins out.
A simple pry bar will pop it open.
If there's no bars over the windows I could be in you house in min.
There really is no "preventing" them from getting them in, with a camera security camera set up there's at least a chance of catching at the act.

I have to agree with Joe, that the hinges are way down on the security list.
The easiest and more effective protection is an alarm system. Most intruders will not stick around long with an outside alarm sounding. Add to that the new technology of cameras and motion sensor lights and your house falls to the bottom of the list as a target.

Yes, there is some peace of mind securing those doors, but you need to continue your review of home security. Not sure where you live but I consider a good home security system as important to a home as electricity.

Screw two or three 1/4" or 5/16" lag bolts into the hinge side of the door. Leave about 3/4"-1" sticking out. Cut the heads off with a hacksaw. Close the door until the cut off lags make a mark on the jamb. Drill holes. Easier, cheaper and more secure than retaining the pins.

Outward swinging doors frequently have a gap between the door frame and the door, which exposes the bolt or latch from the outside.
Bypassing most locking devices is possible for skilled burglars if they get access to the bolt or latch.
A latch guard is a plate that hides the opening between the door jamb and the door and forbids access to the latch from the outside. Two through-bolts can be used to mount this thin metal plate onto your door.
