I am finishing a remodeling project. The one door has vent soffits above both sides and is tight to one wall. Therefore, on one side I can fit traditional trim on both sides but not the top. On the other I only have about 1 1/2 on the right, 3-4" on the left and 1 1/2 on top.
Center so one side casings are same width. If door is not near another, cut jambs and door down to get head the same as casing width. You won't see both heads at once. Be safe, GBR
