I have someone helping us put in new ceramic tile in our bathrooms. He told us that he won't need to seal it with the pre-mixed grout that he is using because it is water and stain resistant after 7 days? Is this true? Or should it be sealed?

Also.. should I change it and have him use the stuff you mix? It seems like everything I read says premixed stuff is trouble. But he says he likes it. I don't know what to do. He is laying the tiles tomorrow night and will be back on Wednesday to grout.. so I need to figure out what we are doing.

It is the TEC ready to use premixed grout from menards. What do you all think? Please give me some advice on what we should do. Should we have him take it back and do the regular kind that you mix? And seal it?

One more question.. I'm sorry. He's also saying he wants to use quick set mortar instead of the thinset mortar now. Is this okay for a bathroom floor?

He also mentioned a quick set grout? Please let me know your thoughts on this.

thanks... so the quick set mortar is okay as long as he can work fast basically?

He's now mentioning using a quick set grout...with sealer instead of the premixed. Is there such a thing?
