We have a very small outhouse/porch at the back of the house. This will have a tumble dryer, washing machine, and fridge in it. Half of the bricks have been painted with white emulsion. The other half are untouched.

Only one of the 4 walls is an external wall. The rest are internal.

If we wanted to change the color of this outhouse, do we really need to use masonry paint (especially seems half of the bricks have been painted without this already), or is it still recommended, even for a small area?

ps. In 18 months or so, we will be insulating this room... I'm not sure if this will make a difference to your answers?

Must be different from the "outhouse" I'm thinking of.
