I hope I can find an electrician roaming these forums. I might be adding a 2nd backup sump pump. My first backup is just plugged into an outlet in that room. I'm out of outlets around the pump so I have two options:

1. Add a line from the breaker box to the 2nd pump. Would require fishing lines through a partially finished ceiling.
2. Tie into the outlet from the first backup pump. The wall is open in this storage closet so wires can be accessed.

Would two backups on one breaker/line be to much? I don't want anything to catch fire or the breaker to trip. I don't know how much these chargers pull.

Like I said in the other post, why not just look for a higher GPH model to keep up with the flow.

How much power does,
the existing pump use ?
How much power will the,
new pump need ?
How much load is already,
on the power circuit that,
you want to use ?

1)Is the circuit capable of carrying the existing pumps load?

2)Is the circuit capable of carrying the back up(s) load?

...and the kicker
3)Are the pumps non coincidentle? Will they ever run at the same time?
