I currently have a natural vent gas furnace and water heater, both venting through a b-vent.

If I replace the furnace with a high-efficiency model that vents through the wall, do I also need to replace the water heater with a power vent model?

Or can the water heater continue to vent through the b-vent?

One contractor says no problem, the other did not mention the natural vent as an option.

Price would be 600 more for a power vent Bradford-White heater compared to natural vent.
