Good morning appliance gurus!
I recently replaced my electric cooktop. Unfortunately, all the cooktops I could find that covered the hole were too big to fit in the hole. I settled on this model, and reinforced the inside of the hole with 1x3s. The cooktop is well supported and snug, but we've got some 1/8 - 1/4 inch gaps (see pics). GE does make trim kits for this, but I'm not paying $90 for some strips of metal.
Due to the foam gasket, the stove sits about 1/16" above the counter. I'm looking for some thin black metal or plastic that I could cut to fit and slide between the stove and granite. Anybody have any suggestions?
Thanks!
