Hello I am a new member here, been remodeling the kitchen for the last few weeks getting down to the floor, I want to do it myself this time, the present floor is linoleum sheet, looks like one seam, I can lift that up and work from the luan floor from there, was going to go with a vinyl tile from Congoleum Dura Ceramic, but after reading the reviews, I did not find a positive review out of 10 negative consumers reports, so thats out, this is the reason I came here to this website, for some better suggestions and options, something durable to last. does not have to be a tile type, something I can do, don't want to get into the roll type flooring, although I had an IVC floor installed in my family room 8 yrs ago and it looks good, but I cannot get into doing the roll type floors myself,

There are several other brands of flooring like the Dura Ceramic. I know Shaw has one that we've used a lot with good success. The hardest part of that is the grouting. They use a urethane grout that can be a real pain to clean up, sort of like working with epoxy. There are a lot of glue down and click together floating vinyl tiles on the market now as well. US Floors has a relatively new product called Coretex, which is a luxury vinyl tile on a click together waterproof core with a cork back to absorb sound. It's completely impervious to water since the core is a plastic composite. You could also look at cork and bamboo which mostly clicks together and floats as well. It isn't quite as good with moisture due to the laminate core on the cork but still pretty tough stuff.

FYI louon has not been an approved underlaymant for many years for linolium flooring.
Color bleed through and glue reliece is the reason.

I have congoleum air step. I like it. Its really comfortable to walk on also.
