Howdy y'all! I've got a 10x30 covered patio. I'm thinking of getting a large (84 in x 50 ft) roll of fiberglass screen mesh and basically just taping it around the perimeter (and perhaps stapling it to the column in the corner and the one along the 30 foot opening). But I need doors!

The first thing that comes to mind are those self-closing magnetic screen doors. I was thinking of just cutting a vertical slit and affixing adhesive magnetic tape to both edges. Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure most magnetic tape is too weak, and anyway I don't think it'll stick along the thin exposed edges.

Any ideas?

You're not going to be able to pull the screen tight enough by securing it with tape, and the tape will fail. Before the tape fails the screen is going to flap and flop and look like heck. And you are correct, magnetic tape isn't strong enough. Any kind of opening is going to need some kind of framing - it's not going to work like going in and out of a tent(which, even if it did work, would be a 5-alarm pain).
