I'm trying to hook up a dishwasher and cannot run the wire directly to the panel. The panel runs off fuses. There is a receptacle in the kitchen I could tie into that is on 2 -15 amp fuses. I've tested all the receptacles in the kitchen and only 1 runs off those fuses. Is this safe to do so? Any help would be appreciated

I moved this thread to 'Electrical' for you.

Most dishwashers require a 20 amp circuit---

Two fuses should not be running one 120v. circuit---
An electrician will be along to help you sort this out.

Mean while---what type of wiring does this house have? Conduit with loose wires?
Old non grounded cloth wrapped ?
Knob and tube?
Modern Romex(with ground)?

The house has aluminum wiring.

Most resi dishwashers draw 12 amps or less. A dishwasher should never be on a counter circuit. A panel with fuses should be upgraded and no new loads should be added to it.

Aluminum wiring and fuse panel were not even in the same time frame for installation. Does the wiring have a plastic sheath?

It has green sheiving but I don't believe it's plastic like today's wiring

Soundso like early NM and would not be aluminum. It may or not have a ground which is needed for the DW.

It's definitely aluminum wiring and also has a ground in it as well
