We're buying a well built 2/story cabin that has 4x12 joists supporting what looks like 5/4 tongue and groove floor boards. From the lower floor the ceiling looks great because it's all exposed. However, dirt falls through the cracks. Any ideas for sealing the boards from underneath? Don't want to cover it, hoping for something invisible I can paint in between the boards....there are a lot of them!

Thanks, Ken

There is no covering. There's floor's so nice we'll use a couple of area rugs. We were there today and plenty of dirt fell through the cracks from area rugs that the seller removed yesterday so I see the problem's real but it won't be a bad as that into the future. Anyway, I have plenty to do at the place and thought I'd attack this too. Maybe silicon beads under high traffic areas.
