Wonder what languge should be in the contract for warranty. Wonder if there is an example? My said "the workmanship on shingles is garantteed by xx (the roofer)".

I saw in another thread you are having certainteed shingles installed. Are you having the 3,4 or 5 star Surestart warranty included.

My warranty paragraph is rather long describing what we do and do not cover but we basically cover any workmanship defects for 10 years unless its a 5 star warranty job, then it's 25.

I would not get to hung up on the length of the warrenty by the installer and let this be the deciding factor on who you hire to do the job.
They could put anything they want, but it's only as good as the installer and if there even still in business.
If a new roof is going to fail in most cases you'll know within the first year.
