Hello,

I would like to demolish half a brick wall that stands between my living room and kitchen. I will then have a bench/counter fitted to be used as a table with stools on the side of the kitchen.

In my opinion this is way too complicated but I have attached a sketch of what is on the was so as for you to let me know if this is possible or not.

What do you suggest?

Thanks.

was the kitchen or living room an add on addition and the exterior brick wall was left up as part of the addition or is it a fake brick wall?
A couple of pics of the actual wall may help.
I will post some pictures soon but my ultimate goal is to do this:

This is the wall that I want to demolish. I want to remove the top half or most of the top half to make it a bar:

This is the big picture:

This is the wall I want to place the TV on or on a piece of furniture:

This is the other side of the wall that I want to demolish:

Any ideas? I know its difficult but at least I'll give it a shot!

What country are you in? - The heating, cooling and electrical outlets suggest that question.

The only brick I see are just surface tiles applied for a backsplash above the countertop.

Is the wall you want to open up made of masonry (brick, block, clay tile) or is a framed wall using steel studs or wood?

You definitely have a lot of electrical and heating/cooling in the wall you want to remove. It would be good to have a local professional look at the situation to determine the feasibility. the concept would certain open up the small spaces into a larger one.

I live in Cyprus.

The wall is made up of masonry.

Yes I agree that there are a lot of electrical and heating/cooling in the wall. I will not remove or move any heating hubs but the aircondition might need to move.

Well, at least my observation ability has not deteriorated with age. - I was thinking of Greece and not Turkey and just overlooked Cyprus. Most of what I saw in Turkey was different orientation and heights of outlets. Cyprus has had and long and rich history and influence by both the Greeks and Turks

You walls are probably hollow clay tile (cores either horizontal or vertical) or even solid block with a plastered surface and the channels in the tile routed out for wiring before the final plaster coats. I was always amazed how the 3" or 4" tile can be routed out with a hammer to install the electrical and mechanical to created a very sound wall. The walls could even be pumice blocks since pumice is common, desirable and available in your area. I spent some time in Yali, between Greece and Turkey where there are some of the largests resurces of high quality pumice in the world.

Depending on your abilities, you will need a local craftsman to assist you.
