This is got to be so simple a child can do it...but I don't know the trick.

1/4 PVC semi flexible hard plastic pump drain hose on the back of a dehumidifier that has a pump.

You push it in no problem. But if you need to remove it there must be a release mechanism.

What's the trick?

I'll guess that it has a fitting like in this video.

I just bought a Noma brand with same hose. You squeeze the fitting where the hose goes in. Your thumb would be right by the hose and finger on the other side. Once you squeeze, hose pulls out easy.

Thanks for the video Chris and for the assist Catman.

All I had to do was push the hose inward toward the dehumidifier and then, while holding the inner collar back against the dehumidifier, pull the hose out.
It was that simple.
