I have a 6 year old carrier heat pump. Today the outside unit was froze over. Rang the defrost sensor out, was ok. Trying the speed up defrost cycle, the unit sounded as if it went into defrost, BUT the outside fan never kicked off. After 30 seconds or so, it repeated the same thing several times over. My guess is a bad fan relay on the defrost board?
But a second opinion may save me losing my cash if that's not the case.
The defrost board is a model HK32EA001 if that helps.

Was it blowing out warmer air then the normal outside air. If so, it was in defrost mode, and the fan relay is stuck closed.
