Hi all,
Stripping my deck by sanding it, about finish, lots of sanding dust, what is the best way to clean off the dust on the deck board prior to stain it?
Thinking of powerwash, what do you think?
I vacuum with a shop vac, blow it off with a leaf vac, then just hit it with the hose with a high pressure nozzle.
But then you have to wait a few days for it to dry out.
What Joe said. Sometimes if the wood is in bad shape, all I do is blow it off with my 200 mph leaf blower. Introducing water with pressure is sometimes a bad idea on a deck that's got lots of wear and tear on it. Plus, with the leaf blower, you don't have to wait till the deck dries out........
Even the best setup like that still leaves some dust behind. It depends more on the tool itself. I have a Festool RO125 and it leaves a tiny bit behind.
