Does anyone know where I can find the weight capacity an limit on commercial decks is in Tn.
Also if the benches will be ok to add to the structure..
There is a small not for profit company wanting some small add on benches built on a outside deck .I also noticed it was built with 4 by 4s on top of the square concrete pad an NOT in the ground .It is detached an has 8 4by4s spaced every 6 ft. It is 14" high on blacktop .
I know it can be a bit different with commercial codes ,I will also call local office an ask .
Any info is appreciated
Thanks .

The load capacity of any deck depends on the material properties of its framing members and the distances they span. Unless you provide us with a proper deck framing plan, you will be wasting your time.

Short and safe answer: Call either a building designer who can deal with gravity loads, or a structural engineer.

If you have benches at the outside edges of a deck then the guard rail needs to be higher to allow for a child standing on the bench and falling over the back.

Most counties have deck specifications online that you can download and it can be for any county or city in your state.

Failed decks have killed quite a few people so not a place to make shortcuts in the design or construction.
