Hello all, I am looking to find a simple rotary turn switch for DC current. The key is I want this switch to have three positions, on (positive and negative currents are connected to the output), off (currents are disconnected to the outputs) and inverted (positive and negative currents are connected to the outputs in opposite order of the on position). I know that there has to be something out there, I don't think I know what I need to be searching for. I would like to switch to be able to handle between 30 and 50 amps. Thanks

You need a DPDT (double pole double throw) rotary switch with center off position. You would wire your load to the common terminals, and power to the other terminals such that positive and negative are reversed depending on which way the switch is turned.

I don't specifically know where to find such a switch, but it sounds like the sort of thing that might be used in RVs and boats to switch between two batteries.
