Hi.
I pulled up my half bathroom's linoleum flooring to replace it with vinyl. The floor is concrete because we are at the bottom floor of a condo building. With the toilet removed, I can see that the hole in the concrete where the closet flange is seems to have a gap where concrete has broken away past the diameter of the flange and sewer pipe.

I was about to start putting down self leveling concrete on the floor but would like to know if I should repair this gap and if I should replace the closet flange?
If so, what method and material should I use for repairing the gap?

Just for extra info, the closet flange is 4" x 3" plastic and seems to be glued to the outside diameter of another plastic pipe, which is then on top of the sewage pipe.

Attached are pictures to show what I mean.

Hi again. Thanks for getting back to my question and sorry for the late reply; I have only been working on the renos at the weekends.

I removed the top of the flange because it was leaning slightly.
The flange is a 4"x 3" flange glued onto the outside diameter of a 3" pipe which seems to be hose clamped to the metal sewage pipe.

I only managed to get the top lip of the flange off but once I done this it revealed that there was gaps all round the flange.

Attached are photos to help show what I'm describing.

Does anyone have info for what type of how I will remove the rest of the flange and once I replace, what material to use to fill the gaps and the method.

Thank you.

HOW did you remove the top flange? Unless thats a clean piece of pvc that you can glue a new flange onto, you may have to break up some cement so you install a new riser to glue a new flange onto. If the pipe was stable, what possessed you to remove the top of the flange? Being a little off level isnt a big deal. The wax makes up for it.
