CUVED HOBBIT HOUSE ROOF: I am taking on the ambitious task of building a summerhouse. I want it to be like a hobbit house but am struggling with a way of getting a curved roof which I can then AstroTurf. It will be about 15ft wide and 8ft deep. I’m considering cutting the front and back of the house and then using slats that can then be felted over and the grass on top but not sure about this method yet. Any suggestions very gratefully received.

Why not just do a green roof? i.e. living roof.

I would happily do that is I can get it to attach to the steepest section. Will look at that. Thanks.

Any gluelam companies near by, you would only need 2 for the front and 2 for the back and run the rafters like joists between them.
For a rookie, it might be easier to laminate pieces cut from plywood. Probably higher material cost, but the process looks pretty straightforward.
