Hi All,
I just had a new back porch/landing poured and it's crooked.
The contractor said it has a 2% slope to accommodate run off.
What do you guys think? Thanks in advance for your 2 cents.:biggrin2:

Just my opinion, but yes it needs to have a slope but it should also be parallel with the threshold of the door. It can slope towards us in that picture, it doesn't need to slope right and forward.

Bud

Just curious, what is under that set of steps, blocks down to below frost or is it just built on top of compacted earth? I don't see any excess gravel in the picture. If he has to rebuild it it may need other improvements.

2% is 2 inches over 100 inches. we usually use 1/8" per foot.

As mentioned, it should have been level at the door and sloped the other way.

It should have been placed 2" lower so the next time the door is changed out you could get a proper installation to stop water from getting under the threshold.
