I have a gate with a pull type latch. The latch is activated by pulling a stainless steel cable. I need to attach this cable to the latch. I want to loop the cable through the latch where a hole is provided for this attachment. I need to crimp a ferrule onto the cable to accomplish this. I need to use a swagging tool. Since I don't have this tool, can anyone advise what type of contractor or business I can go to, give someone 20 bucks, and have them crimp the ferrule?

Unless you know a neighbor, unlikely somebody running a business would come around for a change. Just a gas spending doesn't make sense to do it.
I would take the latch off if you can and take it to a store or use a hammer and a punch or such to crimp the ferrule. There is a bolt on cable clamps.

What ferrule are you using ?

For a aluminum double ferrule on a light duty and non-lifting use like a gate latch, I would just squeeze it in a vice.
