Hi All,
On my project, I had to remove old insulation from my crawlspace for mold remediation. The previous owners/renters never cleaned gutters or diverted downspouts away from house and had years of moisture issues in the crawl resulting in thousands of dollars in mold clean up.
I am at a point where I have now moved into the house after a ton of work hoping that I wouldn't lose too much heat without the insulation reinstalled - however it's cold and the new HVAC system isn't keeping up....
I also had a basement company come and tell me that the best thing is to seal up the vents, insulate with rigid foam, and encapsulate -- costing me another $12,000.... (probably is, but not in my budget after this whole project)
I would like to put up the good old standard insulation back in myself and was wondering what the R-value needs to be and whether or not I should go with the plastic covering over the fiberglass.
I also installed vent fans to help move the air down there.
Thanks for any help....
