Hey all, new here! We are looking at a house to purchase that was built in 2006, and it has the scratch coat for the stucco applied, but not the final coats yet. The house has been with the scratch coat for a few years now, and upon inspection, I noticed tiny hairline cracks in the scratch coat at various places.
I was told that this is because of a poor job applying it and in a few spots if you press on it, it will flex very slightly. There are no large cracks or any spots with missing mortar or anything. I was also told that these cracks could also be from the coat drying to fast (hot weather, not being kept wet enough).
Just wondering if this will be an issue when getting someone to apply the final coats to the house? Will these areas have to be repaired or is some hairline cracking like this normal?
Anyone's help or opinion would be greatly appreciated.
