I have re-occuring crack above a doorway in the drywall. I have patched it several times with mud, even cut out a sqaure and patched it that way, but it keeps on cracking. What can I do to remedy this?

Are you applying joint tape, or just mudding the crack? Without joint tape it will crack just from normal expansion and contraction.

And be sure to use some Durobond quick setting mud on the tape coat which is much less likely to crack.

I'm using a mesh tape with mud over it. I think it is a 'stress point' which changes seasonally - at least that's what I've been told, but can't seem to fix it.
